Miravel Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

A full bodied wine with good oak on the nose, yet not over powering, also hints of cigar box and chocolate. The palate picks up the berries and is enhanced with some spicy, liquorice and biltong flavours. A lovely lingering after taste combining all the flavours, characterising this wine. A robust and balanced cabernet which is drinking well now and can be stored for several years.

Vineyard Description Grapes are grown on the north east slopes of the estate facing the Helderberg and benefiting from the cool sea breezes.

Wine maker Wynand Lategan, Lanzerac, Stellenbosch.
Vinification Matured for 18 months in French Oak. 30 % new oak barrels and 70% second and third fill barrels.
Storage potential This wine can be stored for another six to seven years.
Nose Fruit, mulberries, hints of oak and tea leaves.
Palate Natural fruity flavours with a bit of spice, mint and oak.
Body Full bodied wine with good colour.
Finish Lovely finish with a lingering fruity after taste.

pH 3.6
Total Acidity 6.0 g/l


Miravel Merlot 2006

A very smooth, silky and balanced wine easy to drink and which encourages you to keep filling the glass! Lovely oak flavours on the nose which continue through onto the palate with some additional minty flavours. An elegant merlot, drinking well, which can be kept for several more years.

Vineyard Description Grapes come from the Annandale Valley in the Stellenbosch area.
